Day 2: Trevignano Romano, the beech forest and the Odescalchi Castle
After recharging your batteries with a healthy breakfast, the shuttle will be waiting to take you to the second stop on this incredible journey: Trevignano Romano, a village that wins you over at first glance, with its historic center reflected in the waters of Lake Bracciano. From here we will begin the ride that will let us discover the beauty of the Cimini Mountains. Entering the Bracciano-Martignano Regional Natural Park, you will be immersed in the beautiful Monte Raschio Beech Forest, now a Unesco heritage site; the intersections of the foliage of these centuries-old beech trees (even over 500 years old!), create plays of light and shadow that will capture your attention for very original photographs! Descending from the beech forest you will arrive in Oriolo Romano, a small jewel of Renaissance architecture. Here you will have the pleasure of visiting the Altieri Palace, a residence of the ancient noble families Orsini and Altieri, of great historical and artistic interest. In the evening, dinner in the 'shadow of the Odescalchi Castle of Bracciano and overnight.
INCLUDED MEALS: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 3: Caldara and cheese production
On the last day we will leave Oriolo and pedaling on nature trails, we will arrive in Manziana. For fans of Tolkien, it will be like plunging into one of the scenarios described in "Lord of the Rings," the forest of Manziana in fact offers fascinating glimpses rich in wildlife wrapped in a mysterious atmosphere created by the presence of the Caldara fumaroles. The village of medieval origin, a typical fortress of that time is overlooked by an imposing castle. Crossing another path you will arrive at Monterano. This last extraordinary abandoned village guards the ruins of an ancient Roman city and medieval center. Here you can visit the remains of the Forum, the Theater, the Baths, the Basilica and the Villa of Marcus Aemilius Scaurus, an important Roman politician and general. Our cycloexperience concludes with a visit with a gastronomic experience at a local dairy where you will come into contact with the quality of the area's raw materials and the craftsmanship of those who have been making dairy products for generations. Return to Rome scheduled in the afternoon.
