If you're newer to riding and your height sits between two sizes, go with the smaller one. It's easier to handle.
You can ride our e-bikes from 140 cm tall, as long as you feel steady on the bike.
Kids up to 140 cm (or over 12) can ride a regular bike. Little ones up to 20 kg ride in the rear child seat, and children aged 5 to 9 can come along on a trailer bike.
In the centre, pick up at Piazza Venezia (Via del Gesù 91) or on the Tiber cycle path at Lungotevere delle Armi 44. Riding the Appian Way? Start right there at our Appia Antica point, Via Appia Antica 175.
Bus 982, C3, n3s, or n201 to Cinque Giornate, or Metro A (red) to Lepanto, then walk along the river to Lungotevere delle Armi 44. At the blue gate, press the white button inside the red vertical sign and head downstairs, we're next to the padel court.
Bus 600 to the last stop, or Metro A (red) to Arco di Travertino, then Bus 600 to the end. We're beside the café on the corner.
Bus 51, 87, 628, or 30 to Corso Vittorio Emanuele, then a short walk, or Metro B (blue) to Colosseo.
At Appia Antica, park along Via di Cecilia Metella. At Lungotevere, use the blue-line paid bays and pay at the machine or with the EasyPark app. Via del Gesù sits inside the ZTL (limited-traffic zone), so we'd skip the car there, park near Tiber Island and walk over.
Yes. Check first that your accommodation has somewhere secure to keep the bike, never leave it on the street overnight, and remember any damage or theft is your responsibility.
No problem if it's free, just message us to check. If you're hanging onto an e-bike overnight, swing by for the battery charger.
Leave them at our Bike Point for the duration, and you can ride worry-free. One honest heads-up: this is a favour, not a left-luggage service, our staff sometimes step away (to help a rider with a flat, say), so we can't take responsibility if something goes missing or gets damaged. For full peace of mind, use an official luggage store.
Wear it on your back, or if it's small (around 6 L) it'll fit in the bike's handlebar bag.
Small dogs only, riding in the basket, though it may not be the comfiest trip for them.
Credit card or Stripe, PayPal (message us first for the link), bank transfer (message us for the IBAN), or Satispay (message us first).
Yes, by cash, card, or Satispay. Just know your booking isn't locked in until you arrive and pay.
Check your inbox after you book. You'll get a confirmation email with all your references, and you can view or manage everything anytime in your account at bicycle.paxportal.io.
Check your spam folder first. Still nothing? Message us and we'll sort it out.
From your account you can reschedule, request a cancellation, read the cancellation policy, sign your waiver, and check every detail. Stuck? Just message us.
Easiest way to find out is to book right on our site. Prefer to talk? Call us at +39 351 004 3528.
Sometimes we hold reservations back to avoid overbooking, especially on weekends and holidays. Give us a call and we'll check what's really open.
Add what you fancy to the cart, extras and all, then enter the code at checkout. The gift amount comes off automatically, leaving only any extras or balance to pay.
Anything on the site, e-bike tours, e-bike travel, StarsBOX, Woods Camp.
Whatever's comfortable. No special gear needed, we'd just suggest sneakers and long trousers.
Just a valid, in-date ID: an identity card, driver's license, or passport. Check in with our staff before you set off.
We're sorry, but no, not without a valid document. It's a safety rule we can't bend, for rentals, tours, and holidays alike, and we can't refund a booking in this case. So double-check your ID before you head out.
No. You can activate a policy covering civil liability, accident, and legal costs — see the full policy here — and you'll need to sign the liability waiver, by email or in store, before you ride. As for damage and theft, there's no such insurance in Italy, so that part's on you.
Here's the honest part: in Italy there's no insurance that covers bike damage or theft on the road, so it's on you. Call us straight away and we'll help, and we'll work out any damage when you return the bike.

It's your responsibility, even if you locked it exactly as we showed you, keeping it safe is down to you. Call us right away and we'll help you report it to the police. You'll cover the value of the stolen bike. And no, bike-theft insurance simply isn't a thing in Italy.
Call us straight away and send us your live location on WhatsApp, and we'll help you sort it out.
You'll want to feel confident on a bike, since not everything is smooth cycle path, some of it is uneven ground and ancient roads. A few rides also call for basic fitness, even on an e-bike. Every activity lists its level (easy, medium, difficult), so check before you book.
You need balance and the basics. If you don't feel safe riding, please don't book a ride, but for a relaxed solo spin, Villa Borghese or the Appian Way are lovely (mind the Appia's cobblestones). For mapped safe routes, take a look at romanbike.com.
Then everything's open to you, the long tours and the tougher holidays included.
Light rain doesn't faze us, and we'll hand out raincoats to everyone so the ride goes ahead. If it turns genuinely bad, heavy rain or a storm, we'll move you to another day or time, or cancel if you'd rather.
No, a taxi, Uber, or public transport is your best bet. We'll be waiting for you at the meeting point rather than your hotel.
Fifteen minutes before your start time, which is on your booking.
Show your booking reference to our staff. Once everyone's in, your guide runs a quick briefing on the bike, the route, and staying safe.
They're small group rides, up to 8 to 10 people depending on the activity.
Yes, message us and we'll put together a quote. Only private tours can be customised.
Yes, we treat that as a custom team-building ride (schools, students, work groups), so get in touch.
English, French, and Spanish. Pick yours when you book.
Yes. Little ones ride in the rear seat. If they're pedalling their own bike, they'll need to feel confident, since some routes run alongside cars. Less experienced kids can come on a trailer bike. For the calmest ride, we'd point you to the traffic-free routes like Appia Antica or Villa Borghese.
Only if they're really confident, e-bikes hit 25 km/h, which is a lot on rough or busy roads. They're for riders 140 cm and up.
We're part of Roma 'n Bike (romanbike.com), a network of like-minded local outfits, so we can point you to good hotels and restaurants, sort mechanical help, or arrange a packed lunch (give us 24 hours' notice). On a guided ride? Your guide's got you.
It's a few days inside the real Italy, the food, the history, the people, the landscapes, ridden at a pace that lets you take it in. What matters to us isn't the distance you cover, it's what happens along the way, and the friendships that tend to form in the group.
Open "Bike Travel" on the site, pick your trip, add it to the cart, and pay. Each holiday has a fixed departure date, so if your dates don't line up, check the other trips for ones that do.
We'd say at least 90 days out, the good trips fill up. Last minute, we can sometimes squeeze you in up to two weeks before departure.
Departures are fixed, so have a look at the other trips, you'll often find dates that work.
Your confirmation email has your references. The full rundown, hotel name and address, meeting point and time, what to bring, what's in and what's not, the itinerary, and contacts, comes to you about 10 days before you leave.
We send you a Travel Contract to sign and return, that's what locks it in, and then the detailed summary lands around 10 days out.
Check your spam, and if it's still missing, message us and we'll send it again.
A front-suspension electric mountain bike with a central motor (70 Nm) and a 630 Wh battery, good for around 100 km of range.
All of it, on and off the bike. One guide rides at the front of the group, and another guide or driver follows in the support shuttle. If you get a flat, run out of steam, or just want to sit out a climb, the shuttle's right there. Off the bike, your guides stick with you to the end of the trip.
A vehicle that trails the group so you can rest or stop riding whenever you need to, no drama.
Usually one on a bike up front and one with the shuttle, depending on the group.
Almost always: your accommodation, the guided e-bike rides, a local guide for the whole trip, an e-bike with helmet, chain and lights, and medical and baggage insurance. Sometimes too: food and wine tastings, some meals, entry tickets, luggage transfer, the support shuttle, and train tickets.
Usually: meals we haven't listed, drinks and snacks, the city tax (paid on arrival), getting yourself to and from the meeting point, extra nights, room upgrades (single rooms and extra beds cost more), and anything we haven't named as included. Each trip page spells out its own list.
No, we only ride our own fleet on bike holidays. We'll sort you out with one of our e-bikes when you book.
Some trips are easy, others are a proper challenge. Before you book, check the difficulty level, the maximum climb, the categories, and who the trip's really for. Not sure? Message us and we'll steer you right.
You should be in decent shape for your trip and comfortable on a bike. If our guide judges someone genuinely unfit to ride safely, we can't take them, and we can't refund that, so be honest with yourself about the level when you book.
You'll want basic confidence, because the routes include uneven ground and old roads, and a few trips need some fitness even on e-bikes. The level is always on the trip page.
Yes, the basic Medical and Baggage policy covers you up to €1,000, with a €50 deductible per claim. Read the full policy here.
Yes, message us and we'll arrange a higher limit.

Cancel for free up to 30 days before departure and we'll refund you in full. If you added the "Book Safe" option, you can cancel up to 7 days before and still get a full refund.
Illness refunds need a certificate from a Rome hospital ER.
We can't refund that one.
One piece per person rides along with you, included, via the transfer service for the whole trip. Got more? We can move the extra for a fee, just ask.
It's covered by your included policy (see the document for refund terms).
Wear it, or tuck it (around 6 L) into the handlebar bag.
Absolutely. The system won't always let you book a one-person trip, so message us and we'll add you to a group that's already going, based on availability. Holidays run once they hit their minimum number, which is shown on each trip.
Add the Extra Single Room option when you book, it costs a little more.
Most scheduled departures start at 16, but we can shape a trip around a family, and some Rome-based holidays suit younger kids. Message us.
Depends on the trip. Some routes run on open or limited-traffic roads, which isn't ideal for kids, while the Rome-based ones tend to be gentler.
You're riding a few hours a day, with plenty of breaks. Under-16s ride regular bikes, not e-bikes, so some routes can be a lot for them.
Up to 20 kg they ride in the rear seat, though long hours in it can get uncomfortable, so we'll point you to the shorter, easier trips.
Choose your number of adults and young riders. If any are under 16, message us first and we'll find the right fit.
Not always, each holiday needs a minimum number of riders. If we don't reach it, you get a full refund.
We do, and we love it. Daily rides, trekking, Woods Camp, or a full bike holiday. Message us and we'll send a PDF of everything, or our presentation slides.
All of the above, built around your team.
Either, it comes down to your goal (a relaxed ride, a sporty push), your group's fitness, and the route. One thing: the whole group rides the same kind of bike, so everyone moves at the same pace.
None, though some costs shift with numbers (home delivery, for instance).
Up to 100, and more if you ask.
