Bike Safety Rules

Bring your friends and meet new ones!

Adopting the following behaviors is necessary to maintain control of your bicycle, even in an emergency:

  • Make sure your bicycle is the right size and adjusted correctly to fit you.
  • A properly adjusted bicycle is more comfortable and easier to control.
  • Our staff can help you choose the correct size bicycle.
  • Make sure the bicycle is in good condition by checking it regularly.

Protect yourself

Properly fitted helmets provide protection from life-threatening head injuries. By law, cyclists under the age of 18 must wear a bicycle helmet while riding on a public road.

Wear the helmet according to the manufacturer's directions.

Be visible and attentive

Even if you comply with all traffic laws, there is always the risk of an accident.

  • Be prepared to stop when you spot stop signs, double-parked vehicles or traffic obstruction situations.
  • Be prepared to take evasive action related to vehicles that have just passed you and may turn right.
  • Use hand signals before making turns or changing lanes to warn traffic around you.

Driving safely

Drive in the same direction as traffic so that you are more visible to motorists entering roads or changing lanes in the following scenarios:

  • When overtaking a vehicle or another bicycle.
  • When you have to turn left at an intersection.
  • When a lane is too narrow for a bicycle.
  • When approaching a right turn.
  • When the road is one-way.

Condition and purpose

The customer acknowledges and agrees that they have inspected the equipment and that the equipment is in good condition and suitable for its intended use.

Cycling involves risks. Client agrees that despite such risks, Client wishes to participate in the vacation, tour, and/or rental anyway, and assumes sole responsibility for damage and/or theft of: (a) Equipment (including bicycles); and (b) Safety of Client and others.

The Client will take care of the equipment during the Rental Period and return it in good condition to Bicycle Roma by 7:00 p.m. on the return day specified in the Contract, unless special arrangements have been made with Bicycle Roma. If the equipment is delayed beyond 7:00 p.m., the daily rental rate for the following day will also be charged, unless prior arrangements have been made.

The Customer warrants that all persons who will use the equipment are competent to use it, will use the equipment in the manner in which it was designed to be used, and will comply with all laws and obligations in connection with the use and control of the equipment. No modifications shall be made to the equipment.

The Customer will not change or modify the Equipment without the agreement of Bicycle Roma. If the Customer changes or modifies the Equipment without Bicycle Roma's consent, such changes or modifications will be considered damages and clause 7 (in case of damages) will apply.

The Customer is solely responsible for any damage to or loss of the Equipment during the Rental Period. The Customer will notify Bicycle Roma immediately if the Equipment is damaged or lost and will follow all reasonable instructions from Bicycle Roma with respect to such damaged or lost Equipment.

In the event of any damage caused to the Equipment (other than reasonable wear and tear), Customer will be held solely responsible and will pay Bicycle Roma for the full cost of all repairs: including the cost of replacing any damaged parts and labor to restore the Equipment to the state it was in at the beginning of the Rental Period. For the avoidance of doubt, Bicycle Roma shall have the sole right to reasonably determine (a) whether the Equipment has been damaged during the Rental Period; (b) whether such damage is beyond reasonable wear and tear; (c) the extent of such damage; and (d) the full cost of the required repairs.

If the Equipment is lost, the Customer will be responsible for and pay Bicycle Roma the full replacement cost of such Equipment.

Payment

  • Full payment is required for all reservations at the time of booking. Payment will be made through the secure online reservation system.
  • The Customer also agrees to pay all applicable provisions: (a) VAT and other government taxes or fees; and (b) bank fees on money transfers.

Changes to reservation/cancellation

  • If the service becomes unavailable for the Rental Period due to circumstances beyond Bicycle Roma's control (such as theft, fire, earthquake, or damage resulting from a previous rental agreement), Bicycle Roma will use its best efforts to offer the Client a suitable alternative. If Bicycle Roma is unable to offer a suitable alternative, the Client will be entitled to a full refund of any amount paid to Bicycle Roma, less any expenses incurred by Bicycle Roma related to this reservation.
  • No refunds will be made for early returns, late pick-ups, no-shows or second thoughts.
